Death and Family Protection Benefits

The Scheme provides financial protection to members and their families in case of death, disability, or critical illness. If a member dies while in service, the beneficiaries receive the member’s accumulated pension savings together with a group life cover benefit equal to four times the member’s annual salary.

The Scheme also provides funeral and last expense support payable within 48 hours after notification.

Benefits Provided

• Death Benefit Cover – Four times annual salary
• Permanent Disability Benefit – Four times annual salary
• Critical Illness Benefit – Up to 30% of death benefit with a maximum of Kshs. 10 million
• Funeral/Last Expense Benefits:
• Principal Member – Kshs. 200,000
• Spouse – Kshs. 150,000
• Children – Kshs. 100,000
• Parents/Parents-in-law – Kshs. 50,000
